YouTube Music rolls out Global Charts so that people can browse top songs, music videos, artists, and trending content both globally and in 57 individual countries. Earlier this year in April, YouTube Music launched the Explore tab as the go-to destination for music discovery on its service. The Explore tab introduces users to new albums, singles, and music videos, and also helps them easily navigate the catalogue of diverse playlists through the Moods & Genres section.
The Explore tab has been expanded to include YouTube Music’s global charts letting listeners directly engage with the most popular music from 57 countries around the world. The Charts section within Explore features the following for each country:
Top songs
- The most played songs on YouTube
The Top Songs chart highlights the number of views of a song on YouTube. It’s calculated by combining all official versions of a song (including the official music video, user-made videos with the official song, and lyric videos). The Top Songs chart is updated weekly.
Top music videos
- The most viewed music videos
The Top Music Videos chart celebrates the music video experience on YouTube, highlighting the most viewed official music videos on the platform. The Top Music Videos chart is updated weekly.
Top artists
- The biggest artists on YouTube
The Top Artists chart highlights the most popular artists on YouTube, based on the total view count of their entire discography including official music videos, user-made videos with the official song, official live performances, remixes, lyric videos, album songs, and collaborations. The Top Artists chart is updated weekly.
Genres
- The top videos across the major genres on YouTube
Trending
- What’s new and hot in music right now
The Trending chart highlights new videos that were immediately popular upon release. YouTube’s Trending Chart is updated multiple times a day.

Part of YouTube.com/Charts, Music Insights is calculated by combining all official versions of a song (including the official music video, user-made videos with the official song, and lyric videos).
