YouTube Music launches in SE Asia with 7 additional countries as part of its worldwide rollout to replace Google Play Music. Google has been under criticism that YouTube Music is less feature rich and less available than Google Play Music and this has seen a flurry of additional countries and features deployed on the YouTube Music platform. Welcome as these additions are many of them are catch up rather than novel features and with the relatively poor audio quality on offer the streamer has a long way to go to match the innovation of Spotify or the audio quality of Amazon Music.
The list of countries which were part of this rollout are:
Hong Kong
Indonesia
Malaysia
Philippines
Singapore
Taiwan
Thailand
YouTube recently has rolled out its service into Latin America, Eastern Europe, India and the Middle East this year as part of its plans to replace Google Play Music with YouTube Music.
