YouTube Music continues its international expansion adding India, 12 Latin American countries and South Africa to its worldwide coverage. YouTube Music is being developed as a replacement to Google Play Music which is likely to be retired once the full rollout of YouTube Music is complete and all the Google Play Music functionality has been developed for YouTube Music. If you are a subscriber to Google Play Music, then you will get a YouTube Music Premium membership as part of your subscription each month. Users of Google Play Music will not see any changes in the near future, they will still be able to access all of their purchased music, uploads and playlists in Google Play Music.
YouTube Music comes in two flavours – a free ad supported version, YouTube Music and an ad-free subscription service, YouTube Music Premium which allows you to play a YouTube music video in the background while you toggle between apps, write a text message or lock your phone while you’re going for a run, along with offline downloads.
