Deezer, Qobuz and Spotify have realised that not every one is a singleton or has a family and have come up with ‘Duo’ deals for couples. The pricing for these plans comes about half way between an individual and family subscription.
In the UK there are roughly 15% more two person households than single households with similar numbers in the US.
Spotify is the grand-daddy of music streaming services with a track record of innovation bringing podcasts, playlists and now audiobooks into the mainstream but still has no lossless audio streaming. Qobuz however is firmly placed in the audiophile camp with both HiRes streaming and downloads. Deezer recently introduced a Duo account and with an additional 8% discount for an annual subscription and lossless audio this makes it a serious alternative to Spotify.

Deezer offers individual Premium, Duo, Family and student plans giving access to over 120 million tracks in CD Quality lossless FLAC. A Premium individual subscription is £11.99/month and a Duo subscription is £15.99/month. A Premium Family subscription for 6 comes in at £19.99/month. For those willing to pay an annual subscription a discount of 25% can be had on an individual account which brings down the cost to £8.99/month. An additional 8% discount can be obtained on Duo and Family subscriptions when paid annually and students are eligible for a 50% discount on an individual Premium account.
Qobuz
Qobuz has two subscription tiers, both of which offer a Duo plan.
Studio – This gives you access to over 100 million tracks in lossless FLAC many up to 24-bit/192kHz. There is an offline listening feature in this package. An individual subscription comes in at £10.83/month and the Duo is £14.99/month when an annual subscription is taken out. Family subscriptions for 6 come in at £17.99/month on an annual subscription.
Sublime – You get everything in the Studio package plus a discount of 60% on HiRes downloads. An individual subscription comes in at £14.99/month and the Duo is also £14.99/month when an annual subscription is taken out. Family subscriptions for 6 come in at £17.99/month on an annual subscription.
Spotify
Spotify offers Individual, Duo, Family and Student subscription plans. A Premium individual subscription is £11.99/month and a Duo subscription is £16.99. A Premium Family subscription for 6 comes in at £19.99/month.

Amazon offers individual, family and student plans but no couples plans. Amazon’s Adult Household scheme which allows you to link two personal accounts together let you share all the Prime benefits except Prime Music.
