German stream manipulator shut down

German stream manipulator, Followerschmiede.de, is shut down following the granting of a court injunction to IFPI and BVMI. The injunction is part of a broader effort to prevent ‘fake streams’. Germans stream 107 Bn tracks in 2019, a 36% increase over the 79.5 Bn streams in 2018 and nearly double the 56.4 Bn streams in 2017 according to BVMI, the German music industry association.
