Spotify rolls out Audiobooks to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein allowing Premium listeners access to 350,000 audiobooks, including titles in German, French, and Italian. Eligible Premium subscribers will receive 12 hours of audiobook listening each month, and additional 10-hour allocations can be purchased as needed from €9.99. German music sales continued to grow in 2024 with revenue reaching €2.38 Bn – up 7.8% on 2023 according to the BVMI in recently released figures. The majority of sales, 84.1%, were generated from the digital business, which grew by 11.2%, driven by audio streaming (+12.6%), which now has a market share of 78.1%. Germany had 236 Bn streams in 2024 according to figures by the BVMI from data compiled by GfK Entertainment. This was 11% more than 2023 when 213 Bn streams were achieved. Within the last 6 years the number has more than doubled – in 2019 there were 108 Bn views. German music streaming sales grew 12.7% in first half of 2024

German music streaming sales grew 12.7% in first half of 2024 according to the BVMI, Germany’s recorded music industry association. Total sales were €1.136 Bn, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period last year (H1 2023: EUR 1.056 billion according to the full-year financial statements for 2023).
