German music sales grew 9% in 2020 despite the pandemic with digital reaching 71.5% of the market, up 24.6% from 2019 according to BVMI, the German recording industry association. Germany had 139 Bn music streams in 2020 which represents two thirds (65.7%) of sales in Germany according the BVMI, the German music industry association. From the 7th December radio and Amazon Prime Music plays have been added to the official German singles charts according to BVMI, the German recorded music industry association. These have been added to the weekly charts compiled with GfK Entertainment which already record physical sales, downloads and premium music streams. German stream manipulator shut down

German stream manipulator, Followerschmiede.de, is shut down following the granting of a court injunction to IFPI and BVMI. The injunction is part of a broader effort to prevent ‘fake streams’.
