Spotify has added hundreds of BBC podcasts to its UK streaming service. Archives containing decades’ worth of Desert Island Discs episodes have been uploaded together with Josie Long’s Short Cuts and Brian Cox and Robin Ince’s Infinite Monkey Cage. The BBC has soft launched BBC Sounds, a new audio app intended to replace the BBC iPlayer Radio. BBC Sound Effects free to download

The BBC has made 16,000 Sound Effects in WAV format free to download for use under the terms of the RemArc Licence. The Sound Effects are BBC copyright, but the RemArc Licence permits them to be used for personal, educational or research purposes.
