Spanish streaming increased 20.8% in 2023 with 87 Bn streams, up from 72 Bn streams in 2023 according to Promusicae, the Spanish recorded music industry association. Germany had 213 Bn streams in 2023 according to figures by the BVMI from data compiled by GfK Entertainment. This was 12% more than 2022 when 191 billion streams were achieved. Global on-demand audio streams reached 4.1 Tn in 2023, an increase of 22.3% on 2022 according to Luminate, the entertainment data and insights company that powers Billboard Charts. UK music consumption increases for 9th year running up by 10.0% in 2023 according to figures released by the BPI. The figures based on Official Charts Company data showed that 182.8 million albums or their equivalent were either streamed or purchased in 2023.
