Creators can now sub submit shows on Pandora for Podcasters portal using Pandora’s new self-service hub in a recent blog posting. The launch of this dedicated hub for podcasters comes hot on the heels of Spotify’s launch of its Spotify for Podcasters platform. Podcasts on Pandora was launched in December 2018 with hundreds of shows and over 100,000 episodes, and in just months has grown to thousands of shows and over 500,000 episodes spanning Daily News, Fiction & Drama, History, True Crime, and many other popular categories.
With Pandora for Podcasters, creators can upload their podcasts with a new streamlined process that allows them to make their podcasts available to Pandora’s millions of listeners in just a few simple steps.
Podcasts on Pandora is powered by the Podcast’s Genome Project technology which provides personalized podcast recommendations for each user at the show and episode level based on their likes, dislikes, and other insights from their listening histories. The Podcast Genome Project is a cataloguing system and discovery algorithm that uses a combination of technology and human curation to deliver personalized content recommendations. The streamer maintains that this ‘helps listeners cut through the overwhelming clutter of available podcasts to simply, easily find the podcasts they love.’
Pandora claims to have 64 million monthly active users with the average user listening for 24 hours per month.
Available now, creators who are new to the platform can submit their shows via Pandora for Podcasters here after first registering for an account and then start connecting with listeners.
