Sector Radio is a Russian internet radio station currently with 8 channels broadcasting in 3 different qualities – 56 & 160 kbps Ogg Vorbis and CD Quality lossless FLAC. The lossless FLAC streams can be accessed either directly from the webplayer or using the listening links in a media player of your choice (foobar, VLC, Roon etc).
The number of channels has recently increased to include a Jazz stream although this is currently only available as direct stream links. The site has a number of language editions although only the English version was accessible from the UK and so the other versions were untested. Playlists of the station output can be downloaded here.
The output and the philosophy of the channels has been taken from the site and gives a good indication of the unique nature of this radio station.

SECTOR Progressive
Sector Progressive is an eclectic electronic music channel which ‘fully incorporates the very concept of electronic music.’
The channel description says, “A lot of rare, epic, minimalistic, acoustic, experimental and extravagant material sounds on the air of the SECTOR Progressive channel. Much attention is paid to the traditional Celtic, Scandinavian and Russian music. The most interesting works of the art rock genre are presented. We cover the spectrum of the very concept of electronic music as a global phenomenon as widely as possible. You will also hear music for films and games that are close to their semantic content to SECTOR radio.”

SECTOR Space
Sector Space features traditional electronic music which includes “the Berlin School, Ambient, Tracker Music – a classic of atmospheric currents, works of electronic-instrumental ensembles of the Soviet period, and the creation of modern Russian electronics engineers. Also on the channel are the author programs of Michael Exalote with the lighting of electronic-space themes, which are inextricably linked with music and philosophy.”

SECTOR Classical
SECTOR Classical (branded ‘Nota’ on its URLs) is a classical music channel. The channel description says, “…there is no ‘synthetics’ here – there is only live sound. On the radio ‘Sector’ you will hear exceptionally well recorded and played works of outstanding composers of the planet. We have collected for you a wonderful collection of both famous works and undeservedly forgotten ones. The channel features works from the 15th century and ending with academics of the present.”

SECTOR 80s
SECTOR 80s (branded ‘Geny’ on its URLs). The explanation for this is, “… a decade of the great battle of musical carriers, where the idea of ‘music is always with you’ won. The description goes on to say, “Generation Z is a generation of its own “I” and a generation of users in the literal sense of the word.
