Pi ano is a radio stream playing ‘An endless hi-resolution stream of piano.’ They have two CD Quality Lossless FLAC streams one with metadata and one without which is hosted by P-node – an experimental platform for the development of a hybrid web/FM radio format. Some media players/streaming devices have problems with FLAC streams containing metadata and so may find the ‘no metadata’ stream more reliable. P-node contains a wide range of sound ‘art installations’, experimental audio and technology, and research. The music on Pi ano ranges from experimental piano pieces like John Cage, through contemporary classical music, classical music (Debussy), Jazz (Thelonius Monk, Art Tatum) to more popular performers. These were just some of the pieces we heard whilst writing this post – the linking theme being – the piano.
