open broadcast is an online community radio station created by users who are responsible for the editorial content. The station based in Zurich, Switzerland has DAB+ transmitters plus an internet radio presence with a CD Quality Lossless FLAC stream and 4 MP3 streams ranging from 48kbps to 3320kbps. Their website has a webplayer and programme guide and links to social media.
In parallel, open broadcast has developed a media platform – openbroadcast.org – for music and radio professionals with currently 8 ‘child’ stations which are using this. The platform includes a music archive, a playlist editor for compiling radio programmes and a planning and editing tool.
