Onkyo is to include support for DEEZER HiFi via free firmware update for its AV receivers and networked audio products, it announced this week. The company will be releasing firmware updates throughout the month of August to add DEEZER support to a large number of its AV receivers and networked audio devices. DEEZER is one of the most popular subscription-based, streaming music services, with access to a library of more than 53 million songs.
DEEZER Review
The firmware update will allow subscribers to DEEZER HiFi the ability to listen to CD quality, lossless (16bit/44.1kHz) FLAC music files, with DEEZER currently providing some 36 million tracks to choose from.
Additionally, the update will allow users to use DEEZER Flow facility to listen to a personalised soundtrack. Flow creates a bespoke soundtrack, based on the user’s listening tastes. This feature doesn’t just include known favourites, but also introduces selected new songs, helping the listener to discover exciting new artists. And the more that Flow is used, the better it becomes at understanding the listener’s taste.
