Sony’s mora qualitas HiRes streaming service ‘Powered by Napster’ goes live with a two month free trial period starting now. A limited free trial starts now and if you continue to use the service after the 25th November you will be automatically switched to a formal 30-day free trial effectively giving you a two month free trial period.
At the present, mora qualitas is only available on Mac and Windows PCs with the streamer promising iOS and Android apps ‘soon’. Additional functions in the pipeline include offline playback and lyrics display, enhanced biographies and reviews and integration to network-compatible audio devices and music apps. Subscriptions cost ¥1,980 a month (£14.22 at current exchange rates) which is double the price of standard-resolution streaming services like Spotify in Japan.
To encourage early adoption of the service mora qualitas are offering a free original earphone case for users who sign up to the service. The offer lasts until Christmas Day and to sign up go here.
