Linn Records HiRes downloads are now on Qobuz as part of a partnership to host its complete collection in high resolution (24-bit/up to 192 kHz). Linn Records high resolution digital download website – LinnRecords.com – will close on 28th February 2025.
LinnRecords.com was conceived in 2007 and its aim was to make high resolution Studio Master downloads available to as many people as possible. By demonstrating that high-resolution downloads were not only possible, but also that digital consumers showed an enormous appetite for audio excellence, Linn Records was able to lead by example and encourage others in the music industry to focus on offering the best sound on their own platforms. Now in 2025, high-resolution music is not only widely available to download, but also to stream, and Linn Records is happy to have played its part.
Qobuz was chosen as Linn Records partner as it offers both streaming and downloads in HiRes and is also fully integrated with Linn’s high-performance Network Music Players. According to the company, ‘Qobuz shares the same vision of providing an exceptional listening experience that honours both artists and audiophiles alike. With its commitment to uncompromised sound quality, rich editorial content, and a curated approach to genres like classical music, Qobuz offers a unique and complete musical journey.’
