Deezer releases Christmas playlist with exclusive recordings from Gavin James, Thalía and Ella Henderson according to a recent blog posting. Deezer’s ‘Big Christmas’ compilation is an 18-track compilation of original covers of Christmas favourites. The line-up has artists from all over the world, including Australia, France, Norway, the UK and the Philippines. This includes singer Gavin James, ‘Queen of Latin Pop’ Thalía and rising Scandinavian pop star Aurora. Each act recorded their own original Christmas cover, including top festive songs ‘Last Christmas’ and ‘Silent Night’.
The streamer goes on to say that you shouldn’t expect the songs to sound just like the originals. ‘Every cover in ‘Big Christmas’ offers a mix of genres that give a soulful, acoustic and electronic infusion to the original tracks.
Kieran Shudall of Circa Waves also said this about the band’s track ‘Driving Home for Christmas’: “I’ve always loved Chris Rea’s voice and in this business I find myself driving home for Christmas every year so the song choice just felt right!”
