Global on-demand audio streams reached 4.1 Tn in 2023, an increase of 22.3% on 2022 according to Luminate, the entertainment data and insights company that powers Billboard Charts. Previously in their annual Luminate Year-End Music Report they have focussed on the US music market but this year there are insights on 50 markets including the US and Canada. Apple Music Classical expands in Asia and will be available from the 24th January in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao according to a recent announcement on X (Twitter). UK music revenues highest in over two decades thanks to streaming following a 7% increase in overall entertainment sales to £11.9 Bn in 2023, according to preliminary figures released by digital entertainment and retail association ERA.
