Apple Music has rolled out 116 ‘Top 100’ Charts, one for every country where it is available plus a Global Top 100. Every chart will be updated on a daily basis at 12am PST (US time). The format is similar to that of playlists or albums and can be found on the Browse page with top Songs and Playlists.

With instant and free access not only to the Chart listings but also the tracks themselves, it would seem that the future of conventional charts such as Billboard are numbered – see the Billboard Top 100 here.

  Billboard changes streaming chart rules

Downloads and sales of physical music are taking a smaller and declining share of the recorded music market making traditional methods of rating popular success by retail sales and radio plays increasingly less relevant.

Streaming hits 74% of music sales in Spain
French music streaming grew by 39% in first half of 2018
Austrian music streaming grows by 61% in first half of 2018
Streaming overtakes CD sales in Germany
  US streaming continues to grow
Global music streaming growth set to continue
