Apple Music Preview app released for Windows 11 and is available from the Microsoft Store giving users a first look at a beta version of a dedicated Windows app for their desktop. As this is a preview version of Apple Music, not all features may work as expected. After installing the Apple Music preview, iTunes will no longer open, and audiobooks or podcasts on your device will be inaccessible until a compatible version of iTunes is released. To revert back to iTunes, you’ll need to uninstall this version of the app. As with all beta releases the usual caveats apply but for those who wish to try it can be downloaded here.
If you need to sync your media to Apple devices you will require the require the Apple Devices app. This is also in Preview (beta) mode and can be downloaded here. The same limitations regarding audiobooks and podcasts applies to this preview version. Apple Devices allows you to sync music, movies, and TV shows from a Windows PC to iPhone, iPad, iPod, or iPod touch; Update or restore iPhone, iPad, iPod, or iPod touch; and Back up and restore iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
The requirements for these preview apps are that you have Windows 11 version 22621.0 or higher, an x64 processor and DirectX Version 11.
For those wanting to preview the Apple TV app, it can be found here.
