Apple Music Classical launches Top 100 chart ranking the most popular classical albums globally. The weekly chart combines five data sources to form a complete view of what’s happening in classical music. The top five albums this week are:
- Bach: Keyboard Concertos by Jonathan Bloxham & Tianqi Du, Academy of St Martin in the Fields
- Brahms: Symphonies – by Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Chamber Orchestra of Europe
- Cinema – EP by Plínio Fernandes
- Sommernachtskonzert 2024 (Summer Night Concert 2024) by the Vienna Philharmonic
- Waves (Music by Satie) – Bruce Liu
From 22nd July, the Classical Top 100 will be updated every Monday, with each chart including activity from the previous week from Friday to Thursday.
Apple initially launched the its Classical app on the 28th March last year with an iPhone app and has since released an Android app in June and an iPad app in November. There still isn’t a PC app and no indication as to when of if it might appear.
