Another unofficial Apple Music web player launches called Musish which has a look and feel very similar to the iOS and MacOS apps. This follows closely on from PlayAppleMusic which was launched last month. Musish allows users to use Apple Music on their laptop or PC without having to use iTunes.
Musish uses official Apple public APIs and libraries to handle authentication and the developers stress on their Github site that ‘At no point do we request, log, or gain access to information from a user of the site. The user’s token is never sent to any server other than Apple’s own. At no point do we ever intentionally pass any user information to any server which we control,’ Musish also state that they ‘send no cookies or headers related to your Apple account.’
After logging in there are the usual Apple Music tabs – For You, Browse, Radio and My Library although the Radio feature is missing and ‘coming soon’. For You has recently played songs, albums, personalized mixes, the day’s playlists and albums, and new releases although social features like friend profiles and ‘Friends Are Listening To’ aren’t available. The Browse tab has top songs, daily top 100 playlists, top playlists, top albums, and a genres tab which will be familiar to iPad users. Search functions are available on every tab and can be used to find a specific artist, playlist or album.
