Alexa Song ID comes to the UK following on from its release in the US in March 2019. Song ID is an Alexa feature that helps users find and identify new music. Usually you would ask Alexa to play a specific song but when the next song comes along automatically and you it’s something you don’t recognise you will have to ask, “Alexa – what song is this?” Song ID will announce the name of the song and the artist just before it begins to play.

The feature, which is available to both Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music subscribers, can be turned on by asking, “Alexa – turn on Song ID” The feature can be turned off at any time by using the command, “Alexa – turn off Song ID.”

This feature is not available for other music services which are accessed by Alexa.
