SoundCloud introduces Mood and Genre Filters

SoundCloud introduces Mood and Genre Filters allowing users to filter tracks based on what you’re feeling in the moment. Navigate to your Liked tracks from the Library, select your mood or genre and your entire collection will be filtered by AI, serving up a perfect playlist to match it. Depending on the types of tracks you have liked, you will see different mood and genre filters.

  • You can easily tap on any filter which will then create a playlist for that mood/genre (e.g. playful, dancy or electronic).
  • You can play or shuffle (using the buttons above the filters) the tracks in their genre as if it were a playlist.
  • 64 Moods & Genres are available at the moment, with more to come.

Currently available to Go and Go+ subscribers on iOS and Android. If you are a new user, the filters will only appear once you have 10 or more tracks liked.

A SoundCloud Go subscription is £5.99/month which gives you Ad-free listening and the facility to save unlimited tracks for offline listening. A Go+ plan will set you back £10.99/month and this offers access to the full SoundCloud catalogue, the ability to mix tracks within select DJ apps and an improved audio quality (256kbps AAC).

Founded in 2007, SoundCloud is an artist-first platform empowering artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with the most progressive tools, services, and resources. It currently has over 400+ million tracks from 40+ million artists.
