SUN is a community or ‘associative’ radio station broadcasting on FM, DAB and the internet to the Pays de la Loire region in France and has been operating since the late 1990s. It has three ‘conventional’ radio stations SUN Nantes, SUN Cholet and SUN Saint-Nazaire together with 8 theme based internet ‘WebRadios’:

- SUN Nouvo
- SUN Soul & Funk
- SUN Rock
- SUN Hip Hop
- SUN Jazz
- SUN Classique
The station also makes available a range of Podcasts (some recorded in binaural stereo) and Playlists. Programming includes music and local news and information.
All three radio stations are available on their website using a web player and they have Android and Apple apps for mobile devices. SUN Nantes is now available as a CD Quality Lossless FLAC stream (~1500kbps, 48kHz as measured by foobar). The website is in French but is professionally laid out and Chrome’s auto translation feature makes for easy navigation.
The station is a member of FRAP (Federation des Radios Associative en Pays de la Loire) a network of 22 community radio stations which serve the region. FRAP aims to promote the cause of local radio in the region and provide technical and operational support particularly in supporting digital broadcasting.
