Waveform Comments come to SoundCloud on mobile with an Android version rolled out now and an iOS version ‘coming soon’. According to a recent blog post SoundCloud ‘is taking its mobile commenting experience to the next level by bringing comments directly to the iconic SoundCloud waveform in its mobile app.’
SoundCloud has millions of comments shared each month and considers that commenting is integral to powering authentic, real-time connections to its users. This upgrade builds on the mobile commenting experience introduced in 2018, making it even easier for creators to see which moments in a track resonate most with their fans and followers on-the-go. In addition, listeners can effortlessly view comments and engage with creators, friends and fellow fans, anytime, anywhere.
Comments on the waveform let Creators instantly see what listeners and other creators are saying about tracks and exactly when they’re being inspired to react, in real time and on the go. This feedback can be used to shape future releases and improve engagement with their audience. To respond to feedback just tap the comment and reply back
These visual timestamped comments also act as a deeper stat for creators to see how their track is performing with no number crunching required. One glance at the waveform shows you how many people are talking. And fans will take note too – the more they can see they’re on the pulse of what’s new and next in music, the more likely they are to keep coming back for more.
How to use Waveform Comments

The new feature is available via the latest version of the SoundCloud mobile app on Android, and is coming soon to iOS.
