YouTube Music releases 2024 Recap allowing you to tap into your 2024 Recap page on the YouTube Music app and scroll through to see personalized stats (top artists, songs, moods, genres, albums, playlists and more) from this year. This year sees improved animations, enhanced photo quality and the addition of podcast insights.

Dynamic new animations
Animated cards with personalized text for each user have been added creating a unique, engaging visual experience for your Music Recap story. These cards present your listening stats, top artists, genres, and more in a lively and fluid way that’s easy to enjoy and share.
Fresh new stats
Three new stats have been added this year.
- Listening description – Whether you were “amped” or “mellow,” Music Recap now features a personalized summary that encapsulates the essence of your listening habits over the year
- Listening timeline – Trace your musical journey throughout 2024 with a timeline that highlights key moments from the year – whether it was the month you most listened to your top track to when you took some new risks and had your most adventurous listening month.
- Your music movie character – Based on your listening habits, they have created a character inspired by your top tracks and artists – think of it as your musical alter-ego. Are you more of “The Hometown Hero” or “The Hopeless Romantic?”
Higher-quality photos in your musical album
For fans who link their Google Photos to YouTube Music, will be able to see an improved the quality of the photos in your Music Recap. They have pulled better-curated images that capture moments relevant to your music year, enhancing the feel of your musical photo album.
Podcast highlights
Your Music Recap will now include up to two new cards dedicated to your podcast listening. Discover your top podcast of the year and a rundown of your top 5 podcasts, so you can look back on the voices and stories that kept you informed, inspired, and entertained.
