US music consumption grew 16.2% in 2018 according to BuzzAngle Music, the US chart and music market analyst. UK recorded music consumption grows for 4th consecutive year according to figures released by the BPI, based on Official Charts Company data. Blockbuster film soundtracks and continued growth in streaming fuelled a near 6% rise in consumption. HMV UK stores go into administration on 28th December 2018 with KPMG appointed as administrators to HMV Retail Ltd and HMV Ecommerce Ltd.
